Metropolis, Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory is the fifth studio album by Dream Theater, released October 26 1999. It is, so far, their first of four concept albums, with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence being the second (up for debate), Octavarium being the third and The Astonishing being the fourth.

Scenes from a Memory's perfect sense of flow brings each one of the songs to another level. I think a large part of this strong structure has the album's concept to thank for it. The implications on psychology and spirituality this album offers could deserve their own essays. Suffice to say, the multi-faceted (and arguably open-ended) concept.
